CATHODIC PROTECTION

CATHODIC PROTECTION

An effective method to mitigate the exterior corrosion in pipelines and tank bases or structures in contact with an electrolyte is Cathodic Protection. There are two systems to protect structures by this method. One is by impressed current systems and the other is by anode sacrifice systems. Both require supervised installation and constant inspection.

Our specialists are trained and certificated by NACE International to design and install cathodic protection systems and execute:

• Soil resistivity studies

• Location and diagnosis of the functionality of anodic beds, rectifiers and sacrifice anodes

• Calculation by Finite element methods

• Attenuation problem solutions

• Current requirement tests

Our services include the detection and mitigation of interferences like:

• Static current interference with other cathodic protection systems

• Urban systems

• High tension alternate current

• Telluric currents

• Supervision and diagnosis of operating systems

• Systems performance evaluation

• Electric isolation problems

• Potential mapping

• Close Interval Survey (CIS)

• Ultrasonic Guided Waves

• Direct Current Voltage Gradient (DCVG)

Security and organization of information

• Manuals for security in the operation of cathodic protection systems

• Record organization for reparation and modifications in corrosion control systems
