ULTRASONIC GUIDED WAVES
Line inspection is the most used technic for early deteccion for material loss and deformation in pipeline structures. However
an elevated percentage of pipelines can not be inspected by this method due to lack of instrumentation, changes in diameter or
pronounced changes in the structures direction. To solve this problems alternate technics have been created only this can only be
used in
underground pipelines leaving miles of above ground pipelines unsupervised.
A pioneer in new technologies; The South West Research Institute in San Antonio Texas has developed an effective method
to survey above ground pipelines using Ultrasonic Guided Waves. This equipment is capable to locate metal loss as small as 3% of
the transversal section and can also be trusted in long distances surveys with reliable results.
The study of pipeline integrity with Ultasonic Guided Waves works by lounching and recieving low frequency sonic waves
through a structure. The data is then translated with the help of a MsS sensor to a computer where is then analized by a group of
specialized and SRI certified engineers.
Ultrasonic Guided Waves Technology can be used in:
• Oil and gas pipelines
• Boilers and heating exchange pipelines
• Cable systems and anchors
• Concrete bases
• Docks
• Electric transmision towers
• Other above ground metal structures
SATELLITE ENGINEERING
The geopositioning of corrosion control systems is of great importance for their maintenance. We have GPS equipment that
allows us to locate specific areas and measure point coordinates that help future inspect pipelines or systems in difficult access
areas.
RISK AND INTEGRITY
Corrosion causes enormous losses for the industry and affects the security of people, environment and economic activity.
Our specialists are trained and experienced to prevent corrosion problems and its effects. The services we provide to evaluate risk
and integrity of our clients installations are:
• Personalized assessment to industries, institutions and insurance companies
• Damage, residual life and installation estimates
• Pipeline integrity administration
